Important checks you can do before MOT

Categories :

The many car owners worry about having an MOT carried out on their vehicle.  It may be that you take your car in for an MOT and find that you need to spend hundreds of pounds on it to get it to pass.  If the MOT is done on or after the expiry date of the previous one, then you may be without a vehicle until the repairs are done and the retest has been performed.

There before taking your car in for an MOT there are certain checks that you can do yourself.  Have a look round the vehicle and make sure that all your lights are working this includes small lamps such as number plate bulbs.  If they are not working then be sure to replace them, you can often buy these bulbs from places such as Halfords.

Also make sure that your window screen washers are in good working order and that your fluid is topped up.  If there are any lights on your dash board that should not be there such as airbag lights, engine management lights or other warning lights be sure to take your car to a garage to have it put on a diagnostic machine so you can find out and fix the faults.
