Buying from a car auction

Buying cars from an auction can be a great way to get a deal, but there are some things to consider. Most auctions allow you to look around the cars in good time before they are driven through the auction room. During this time you should check any documentation that is displayed and have a good look inside and outside the vehicle. If the car has had an inspection carried out on it then the report is often displayed in the window and this is always worth looking at.

When the car is driven through the auction you will be able to bid on it. Ideally you should always have a maximum price in mind and stick to it. It is very easy to get carried away with the auction atmosphere and end up paying over the odds for a vehicle if you are not careful. Once you have won the car you will usually have to pay for it immediately although some auctions will take a deposit and then the balance within the next few days.
