Used car warranties
If you are buying a second hand car then it may come with some sort of warranty depending on the terms that you buy it. Most car dealers will offer at least a 3 month warranty on a vehicle and some will offer 12 months with the option to extend if you wish. If you are buying the car as an ex part exchange car essentially “sold as seen” then you may struggle to get the dealer to give you a 3 month warranty. In this case the car should be fit for the purpose, meaning if you drove it away and the engine blew up the next day not relating to any faults you were made aware of then you could possibly try and take them to court and sue under the sales of goods act.
Second hand car warranties are not as comprehensive as a warranty you get on a new car and wear and tear items are not usually covered.
