Picking a colour when buying a car
Choosing the colour of a new vehicle is usually way down the list of importance – after all, you need something reliable, efficient and affordable. However, that doesn’t mean it should be forgotten about entirely.
The most popular colours are white, grey and black – arguably a little more subtle, and some say that grey or silver hides the muck better! However, other colours such as blue and red remain fairly popular – although not as much as they were a couple of decades ago.
Colours like pink may only appeal to a small number of people, but there are now quite a few around, and more ‘exotic’ colours like lime green, orange and purple are making an appearance. Some colours suit certain cars better than others – orange seems to be more popular with sporty cars than a typical family car, for example.
Part of the problem is that more exciting colours often come at an additional cost. In the brochures there tend to be a wide range of options with fancy names. Some are metallic, others matt. But when it comes to buying second-hand, the price difference is minimal – so maybe this is your chance to experiment with something new?
