New car warranties
Many people opt to buy a new car because of the warranty it has. Most manufactures offer a 3 year warranty with all new cars and some such as Kia offer a seven year warranty. This can give you peace of mind and avoid the hefty bills of car repairs should something go wrong.
When taking in to account the warranty, you need to check what the terms and conditions are. Most manufacturers will stipulate that the car must be serviced within the suggested time periods by a main dealership so as not to invalidate the warranty.
There is also often a stipulation on what is covered by the warranty. Certain parts such as tyres, will not be covered for general wear and tear. If you are buying a car that is nearly three years old, then often the dealership will offer you an extended warranty. This again can be a good option but be sure to check what is covered as often this is not as comprehensive as a manufacturers warranty.
