Replacing the brake pads on your car
Car brake pads usually need replacing once every one to two years depending on the mileage you do. When you take your car in to a garage to replace the pads they should also check the brake discs and other pads on the car (front or back). They may offer to clean the other set of pads that you are not having replaced.
Many people take their car in to a garage expecting to pay between £60-£80 for a set of pads and end up having to fork out for new discs too. Problem is, this is not the type of thing that you can put off as brakes are one of the most important aspects to the safety of the car.
If you do decide to have the discs replaced at a later date, then you will probably end up having to pay more in labour than if you had had all the repairs done at the same time.
