Is your car essential?
The government are trying to persuade us all to ditch the car as often as possible and either use public transport, share lifts or cycle to work to cut down on levels of pollution. The issue is that in many places public transport simply isn’t good enough and people cannot reply on it to get to and from work.
I recently had to take my car in for a Mot and catch a bus back to my home seven miles away. The first issue was that they buses only ran every hour so as I had just missed the one I had a fifty minute wait until the next one. I decided to go early to the bus stop and got there ten minute before it was due. The bus actually arrived thirty five minutes after its scheduled time, which wasn’t a major problem for me that day but was causing people issues that were going to collect their children from school.
It is times that that when I am glad I have my car to reply on and I think until the public transport service drastically improves, not many of us can go without a car.
