CONSIDERING A HYBRID?

Price is a major consideration for most people. You’ll usually find that a hybrid vehicle can be as much as 20% more expensive than its industry counterpart powered by a conventional engine. If you want to go for an Electric or part-time electric model, you will find that the price range is even higher.

You might be able to get some of the advanced hybrid and electric vehicles for a cheaper price if there is a government scheme available at the time, so it’s a good idea to research schemes prior to your purchase. Also, these vehicles will not normally be subject to Road tax; which could save you hundreds, maybe even thousands of pounds over the lifetime of the car.

However, for most it’s not just the price of the car, but the look and feel too! Many hybrids, like the Ford Fusion Hybrid, are based on conventional vehicles, but if you want something with a unique design you might like the Honda CR-Z or Toyota Prius. A lot more car manufacturers are now branching into this area, so be sure to shop around for the car for you. For example the new BMW i3 is a fully electric car with nifty extras thanks to the BMW i Remote App. Charging at home or elsewhere is so simple.
